8 Diabetes Risk Factors

There are many risk factors that cause diabetes, but many people do not know nor understand what they are. Same as many other illnesses, diabetes risk factors can be prevented. But if it comes from our genetics it be very hard to prevent. To understand diabetes risk factors further, I listed a few risk factors of diabetes, such as obesity, sedentary lifestyle, the wrong diet, family history, aging, high blood pressure, hypercholesterolemia and gestational diabetes.

Obesity - a condition which excess body fats accumulate to the extent that it may be adverse to health. It is caused by a combination of excessive dietary calories, lack of physical activity and genetic susceptibility.
Sedentary lifestyle - a type of lifestyle which is lacking physical exercise. Sitting, reading, watching television and computer browsing for most of the day is known to contribute to an individual being obese.
Wrong diet - wrong time/consumption of food. Is best to eat healthy meals at the same time each day.
Family history - there is nothing you can do about it and taking awareness and prevention for possible illnes

Aging - everyone will get old as time passes by, it cannot be avoid nor prevented. keeping healthy and active as we approach seniority stage is the best way to stay healthy, even at old age.
High blood pressure - a chronic medical condition which the blood pressure is elevated.
Hypercholesterolemia - the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. It is not a disease but a metabolic derangement that can contribute any kind of disease.
Gestational diabetes - a condition in which women without previously diagnosed diabetes exhibit high blood glucose levels during pregnancy. And commonly have a greater risk in developing diabetes later in life.
